To protect Wisconsin’s trees, obtain firewood near where you will use it or use certified firewood that has been properly heat-treated or aged to kill any infesting pests or diseases. Tilleda Falls Campground has had to cut down 150+ trees during the 2022 and 2023 fall season due to emerald ash borer and other invasive insects and diseases.
See https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/Invasives/firewood for more information on moving firewood in the State of Wisconsin.
